8 Nov 2026: second round, both sides back to the immigrants
Section titled “8 Nov 2026: second round, both sides back to the immigrants”- Added to the Ancestry tree: the eight great-grandparents. Six were accepted from Ancestry’s “potential parent” suggestions after checking them against the records above; their dates come from other members’ trees: Dora Kittie Pedigo (20 Jan 1886 – 22 Jan 1931, Smithville), Bessie Mae Wilmot (18 Jan 1885 Amherst – 1947 Mattoon), Francis P. Rossiter (17 Feb 1908 – 20 Sep 1991, Swainton, Cape May, NJ), Lucille H. Garber Rossiter (2 Jan 1914 – 31 Aug 1998, Cape May Court House, NJ), John Thomas (Jack) Turner and James Madison Fuson. Conflicts: Frederick W. Glinski’s tree gives death at Hutchins (Find a Grave: Madison); the 1950 census calls Lucille’s father “Frank B.” (the tree: Francis P.). Margaret McCann was added by hand, because the suggested tree gives her birth as 12 Jan 1888 in Philadelphia, against the 1950 census (born in Ireland) and FamilySearch (25 Sep 1890, County Mayo).
- The Glinskis came from Winkenhagen, East Prussia (now Winiec, Poland). Hamburg passenger list, 17 May 1879, ship Astronom to Hull, then Liverpool and New York: Christopf Glünsky (38), labourer, of “Winkenjagen, Ostpreußen”, with his wife Christine (40) and children Ernstine (5), Friedrich (3) and Emma (2) (record). The names and the parents’ ages match Christ and Ernestine Glinski of Portage County; the children’s ages are 2–3 years low. Probable, not proven. Winkenhagen was in Kreis Mohrungen; its Lutheran parish was Jäskendorf (GenWiki).
- Christ Glinski, b. 23 Feb 1841 Germany, d. 11 Feb 1909 Amherst, Wisconsin; wife Ernestine (1838–1912); married about 1868, arrived 1878; farmer in Buena Vista, Portage County, in 1900 (Find a Grave; 1900 census).
- Frederick William Glinski, b. 5 Feb 1873 Germany, d. 14 Sep 1940 Madison, buried Woodlawn Cemetery, Mattoon; son of Christ and Ernestine (Find a Grave index). Married Bessie Mae Wilmot 17 Jan 1904, Lanark Township, Portage County (marriage); divorced 3 Dec 1937 (divorce).

- Flossie’s parents were James Madison Fuson (5 Dec 1885 – 9 May 1959) and Dora Kittie Pedigo. He is buried in Bonham Cemetery, Smithville; his parents were Jonathan N. and Nancy Jane Fuson (Find a Grave index). In 1910 the young couple lived with her parents, William H. and Mandy Pedigo (1910 census). The Fuson family history’s “W. Kit Petigo” is Kittie Pedigo, daughter of William.
- Edward C. P. Turner’s parents were John Thomas Turner and Margaret McCann. The Social Security NUMIDENT gives Edward Turner, b. 23 May 1933 Philadelphia, d. May 1987, parents John T Turner and Margaret McCann (FamilySearch record search). In 1950 the family lived at 724 W Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia; both parents born in Ireland (1950 census; 1940).

- Edward and Lucille married in early 1955. Their licence was published in The Philadelphia Inquirer, 27 Jan 1955: Edward Turner, 4852 C St., and Lucille Rossiter, 23, 1356 Marlborough St. (index). The index gives Edward’s age as 31, probably a misreading of 21.
